It Doesn't Take an Einstein to Realize Why Microsoft Is Headed Down and Google Is Headed Up
"You'll notice, for example, that I didn't include Sun in my list of vital companies. That's not so much because Sun can be defined in terms of the others but that Sun is simply doomed. Their software isn't better, their hardware isn't better, and they can't see themselves as anything but a maker of hardware or software, so my simple recommendation is that they take the rest of their cash and try entering a hot new field like -- say -- space flight. Or making really fine cakes. The world will always need fine baked goods. Or just give it back to the shareholders. Really"

Web 2.0
Dave doesn't like the web 2.0 meme. Neither do I. I think he's right on the spot with this one.

Bloggrevyen is UP!
After a too long downtime, Bloggrevyen, our popular pinging service for norwegian weblogs is alive and kicking. It's got a facelift, and we have more improvements planned for the nearest future. We've also fixed a couple of bugs related to different charsets in the RSS feeds.
It might be some snags here and there, because the system has just been moved from windows to linux.
Anyways, enjoy :)

Microsoft gets blogging?
Scoble: "More than 15 million spaces have been created since opening in December. 15 million!"
With integrated ads for spaces on MSN messenger, IMHO that's as impressing as dumping 150 billion fake dollar bills over NYC and 15 million of them get picked up.
I still haven't stumbled upon one single spaces site. And I'm quite a bit around.

Sig on Taxonomies
Sig has a great roundup on tags. I find it "hard" to explain why tags are good and hierarchical structures are bad. Sig obviously doesn't ;)

FTP-error
The FTP-server used when publishing blogs has apparently been un-available for some hours. That has resulted in errors when publishing your blog. The problem is now fixed, and you can publish your blog as normal.
...Pausing only to shave
Maybe the best i've ever read in my entire life:
"I could go insane with the web page behind the discussion board. First I could make it 110% xhtml 1.1 + CSS. Heck, why not xhtml 2.0 just to be extra addictive-personality-disordered. Then I could neatly format all the html code so it's perfectly indented. But the html is generated by a script, and the script has to be indented correctly so that it's perfect too, and a correctly indented ASP script does not, by defintion, produce correctly indented HTML. So I could write a filter that takes the output of the ASP script and reindents it so that if anybody does a View Source they would see neatly indented HTML and think I have great attention to detail. Then I would start to obsess about all the wasted bandwidth caused by meaningless whitespace in the HTML file, and I'd go back and forth in circles between compressed HTML and nicely laid out HTML, pausing only to shave."

GigaBlast
I like this site. A lot. But it's hard to make the switch from Google. But I've switched from Yahoo, Altavista, HotBot and a dozen others. So I guess it can be done.
The question is: Why would I make the switch ?

in the blogosphere. So to prove that I'm eating my own dogfood not only
in my internal blogs, here I am. Whether you like it or not.
